- 9x12 centered: 18–24" past all sides. Generous, polished result. Best for rooms 13–15 ft wide.
- Two runners: One on each side of the bed. Budget-friendly, defines stepping zones.
What to Avoid
- An 8x10 completely consumed under the bed with only 2–4" past sides — looks like a misfit.
- A 5x8 under any king bed — entirely consumed by the frame.
